RAILEX BUXTON saw railway modelling return to the town in July of 2022 after a long absence. It has quickly become a staple show in both regional and national exhibition calenders. Presenting over 70 stands including working layouts, Society and clubs displays, modelling demonstrations and opportunities to have a go at various skills, manufacturers, publishers, model retailers and specialists suppliers.

OURSELVES

The show is presented by the ‘the friends of Railex Buxton’. A volunteer team of modellers who come from across the region and wider UK bringing a wealth of experience in building and exhibiting model railways. We find and organise the content, assemble and steward the show. The financial and contractual elements of the event are arranged by Wetton Event Production LTD.

OUR AIMS

We endeavor to expand the awareness and access of our interest further, by staging our event in the expansive and welcoming public visitor attraction of Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens.

We ask, young and old, experienced or not, to allow us to entertain and hopefully inspire you for a few hours. Either as part of a wider visit to Buxton or specifically to attend for a longer period, we are confident that you’ll be pleased you took the time to attend our event.

VENUE

We use three areas for our show: The Octagon, Octagon Lounge and Restaurant Gallery. Each are unusual in design, incorporate large areas of glazing and give a uniqueness to the event.

The Octagon with its tall glass walls and central ring of columns makes for an unique setting.
The adjacent Octagon lounge is a simpler but light and airy room.
The Restaurant Gallery is the third area used for the show. Another well lit and airy space located above the cafe seating and bar and restaurant which is accessed by stairs adjacent to the Palm tearooms.
St John’s Road public entrance. Which has an adjacent bus stop and is a short walk from the railway station, town centre and car parking.
